REACH3D Image Management System undergoes miniaturization
New design’s form factor is 5% of previous size
June 21, 2016 - REACH3D, an S3D industry innovation leader, and provider of the ground breaking SoloSIGHT Single Light Path 3D HD Endoscopy platform (SLP3D) announced today that it has successfully completed the initial phase of the redesign of its Image Management System. The Image Management System’s proprietary processing technology enables the display of the SoloSIGHT 3D HD image in the operating room.
The original Image Management System design relied on multiple 3rd party components in order to support REACH3D’s proprietary processing. This resulted in a device that weighed 32lbs and was the largest piece of equipment in our platform, noted CEO Clif Parker.
Mr. Parker further noted that supply chain instabilities led REACH3D to make the strategic decision to build its own image processing hardware ensuring a more stable capacity for delivery of the REACH3D SLP3D Platform and the quality of REACH3D’s imagery that our customers have come to expect.
While we expect it to be a year of complex engineering and design in order for the new product to meet the needs of all our constituencies (customers, FDA, OEM, distributors, etc.) we are pleased to have made it past the first hurdle reported Vice President Mills Vautrot. This new design when completed will allow the Image Management System to both remain incredibly robust while “shrinking” to a single hi-performance board which will now reside inside the CCU. This saves our customers cost while at the same time enhancing stability, durability and ease of maintenance. It’s a win-win for REACH3D and its devoted client base Mr. Vautrot concluded.
